NZ Assistant Referee Suspended for Attacking Player

Assistant referee Paul Cook has been suspended for three rounds of the New Zealand Football Championship (NZFC) over an altercation with a player during a match between Canterbury United and Manawatu in Christchurch on February 7.

New Zealand Football (NZF) said today Cook will be suspended until March 15 for his part in an incident involving Manawatu player Cory Chettleburgh.

New Zealand Football (NZF) will invest NZ$450,000 ($318,000) on developing the youth game, officials said on Tuesday, but will not be turning its domestic soccer championship professional any time soon.
